Prof. Tapati Guha-Thakurta delivering the Welcome Address.
Beginning of Dr. Rituparna Roy’s presentation…
It was an honour to have a great filmmaker in the audience.
A ‘V’? – hopefully auguring future victory for a project which is of grave cultural import.
Introducing the KPM Trust members on this slide – with a photo taken on the day of Registration (20-08-18).
It was very generous of Goutam Ghose to be a part of this event. It is he who made it very special for all of us.
Prof. Moinak Biswas decided to speak in Bangla while conversing about the Bengal Partition. All agreed!.
Prof. Biswas was the perfect host: he just provided relevant leads & allowed Ghosh to do all the talking.
When a film critic & new filmmaker engages with a veteran…
Here was a speaker with a mesmerizing voice… the audience had to listen…!
Goutam Ghose was eloquent, thoughtful, measured – all that he shared and responded to tempered by a knowledgeable, sensitive mind which had delved deep into the fault lines of Bengali identity. His own family history (his father’s family were refugees from Faridpur) & his latest film ‘Shankhachil’ (2016) figured prominently in the conversation.
3 (of the 6) members of the KPM Trust – (L-R): Prof. Tapati Guha-Thakurta, Neelina Chatterjee & Abhijit Pathak.
Inaugural Event of KPM Trust
A question for Goutam Ghose about his 2010 film ‘Moner Manush’ (a biopic of Lalon Fakir).
A back-bencher made his presence felt towards the end!
